Theoretical Film Analysis
Technical analysis of world cinema structures through the 'Hero's Journey' and three-act structure models.
Project Overview
To build your own worlds, you need to understand how others work. This portfolio contains my professional analyses of films (Parasite, Moon, Antebellum, and others). I look at them not as a viewer, but as a writer: I search for the characters’ “false beliefs,” points of no return, and the hidden springs that make the plot move.
Inside
- Structure Deconstruction: Finding turning points and climaxes that hold the audience’s attention.
- Archetypes and Shadows: Analysis of how a character’s internal breakdown dictates the logic of the external conflict and events.
- Psychology of Motivation: Investigating why the viewer (or player) cares about what is happening.
“A story is not what happened to the hero, but who they became in the end.”
