Collection of Recent Lyrical Works

Project Overview

This collection is a personal creative archive where I experiment with form, rhythm, and the emotional weight of words. It gathers poems written during different periods and their translations, where the main task was not just to convey the meaning, but to preserve the “soul” and poetic structure of the original when changing languages. The works were not created specifically for game projects, but they clearly demonstrate my authorial style. These texts can be adapted for creating in-game ballads, notes, mystical prophecies, or any other artistic world content.

Creative Focus

  • Working with Subtext: Creating short, concise images that convey complex moods without unnecessary explanations.
  • Subtleties of Adaptation: Literary translation between Russian, English, and Chinese, considering cultural nuances and maintaining the author’s rhythm.
  • Setting the Mood: Mastery of style to shape a specific atmosphere — from melancholy to cold calm.
Lyrical Excerpt Poem 1
Lina Liw

…And day by day storms like a blizzard,

Steep, severed days go hurtling by,

The fairest years rush off in haste,

Leaving no embers to my eye.

A moment earlier I suffered

From all those painful hopes of mine,

That tore apart with bitter sneer,

Freezing the fever of that line.

Yet feelings, under altered gaze,

Will never replicate their turn,

The happiest of idle follies

No brighter than a firefly burn.

And that pathetic, weeping bliss

Which I from labor had attained,

Shall offer me no soothing peace,

For joy no longer has remained.

All that to me was once so charming,

All that was pure and flawless, true,

And all that broke my soul to blood,

And every wondrous tear that drew,

Dreams, hopes amid frantic fever,

Despair and sorrow in the night —

Carry within but vast oblivion.

I scarce recall past feelings now

Under the very same old plea.

I feel a different burden now,

Or if I feel — it is repentance.

Lyrical Excerpt Poem 2
Lina Liw

Lost in the silence of the night,

To see the light of their fair souls,

And feigned to be a veil of shade

For caring sparks of burning coals.

I now have dimmed, withdrawn to rest,

A few distant stars will fade away.

I shall await until it rises —

My one and only sun of day.
